Description
Using Computer Systems: Introduction to the Main Concepts of Computer Systems:
• Practical proficiency with a Linux environment
• Knowledge of the main Linux commands
• Understanding documentation pages (man)
• Sessions, files, directories, access permissions
• Programs, processes, commands, and scripting languages
• Console (terminal) vs. graphical execution modes
• Familiarization with shells, writing a few scripts
Objectives
The EU's goal is to familiarize students with the main concepts of computer systems, particularly those running on Linux. The sessions take place in tutorial rooms or computer labs.
Mandatory Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites other than a general high school diploma.
