Description
This course is intended for computer scientists and presents the main models and results of collective choice.
Objectives
To base a collective choice on individual opinions is a complex problem... which can be approached using fairly simple mathematics. This course takes up the mathematical formalization of this problem, starting from the works of Borda and Condorcet (end of the 18th century) and going up to contemporary developments. The latter open up innovative perspectives for improving democratic life. A small focus will be made on computational choice.
