Description

The aim of this module is to provide skills for the analysis of DNA sequences from genomic data, from the extraction of sequences from public databases to the manipulation of these sequences in order to extract relevant information, and this in an automatic way via the use of a dedicated Python library : BioPython.

Objectives

The program is as follows:

- Biology reminder,

- Presentation of data in biology format,

- Banking/databases,

- BioPython programming: Seq + SeqRecord,

- Sequence manipulation/analysis/comparison via Python scripts,

- Retrieval of seq from databases and analysis of simple sequences (strings) via Biopython.

Students will be able to apply the skills acquired through a supervised project for the development of a script to automate the analysis of sequences. This project will be initiated during the practical sessions.
