Overview

The Bachelor of International Management and Business is a one-year program offered by the University of Montpellier and taught at IAE Montpellier, designed to prepare students for professional careers. The goal of the Bachelor of International Management and Business is to provide a broad education in the various disciplines of business management (finance, auditing, marketing, etc.) with a specific international focus, for students seeking an international career.

The Bachelor of International Management and Business degree is awarded upon completion of three years of undergraduate study and 180 credits, and qualifies graduates to continue their education in the higher education system provided they meet the other requirements of the advanced program in which they wish to enroll. The program closely integrates the acquisition of theoretical concepts and practical skills by developing students’ ability to think critically and apply the theory they have learned to real-world situations.

The courses in the Main Option are taught entirely in English; they are designed for English-speaking students (both international and French) who wish to further their studies in fundamental and international business management within a multicultural educational setting, which is further enriched by the cultural diversity of the students in the program.

Program

MAIN OPTION:

  • This option is for English-speaking students—whether foreign or French—who wish to earn an IAE degree based entirely on courses taught in English.
  • The curriculum covers the main subjects of business management and is geared toward international applications.
  • The courses are taught by a team of IAE faculty members who are also researchers, as well as guest lecturers from multinational corporations and/or those with international professional experience.
  • The program consists of two semesters of courses at the IAE, consisting of lectures and small-group work sessions, culminating in an individual report (Main Course Option). Some courses will take the form of workshops.

6-MONTH MOBILITY:

  • Under certain conditions, the second semester of the year may be spent at one of the IAE’s partner universities abroad.
  • With this option, the course schedule is as follows: the student will take the first-semester courses at the IAE and the second-semester courses at a foreign university.

ONE YEAR ABROAD:

  • This option is reserved for French students who complete all degree requirements at a foreign university within one year. There, they earn the majority of the credits required for the degree (55 out of 60). Upon their return, they must complete an individual project in the form of a report written in English, summarizing the concepts and experiences gained during their year abroad. The defense of the report before an IAE jury completes the program and earns the final 5 credits.
