Presentation
The GEMA course comprises 5 skills. 3 common skills which are :
- analysis of the company and its environment (management, law, economics, HRM, marketing)
- decision support (accounting, finance, management mathematics, etc.)
- manage relationships (digital tools, communication, 2 foreign languages, project and market research methodology)
And two specific skills that focus more specifically on entrepreneurship and 'value creation', by taking a closer look at certain management subjects (marketing, HRM, CSR, entrepreneurship law).
Projects focus on business start-ups, events with small and medium-sized businesses, hackathon-type competitions with an incubator, and CSR events.
Objectives
The aim is to train autonomous, agile employees and middle managers capable of working in project mode. These multi-skilled future managers will draw on a solid foundation of general knowledge, as well as on common or specific technical knowledge in accounting, finance, taxation, law, management, marketing, human resources, economics, entrepreneurship and communication, enabling them to acquire the skills needed to help steer organizations through the various phases of their development.
The aim is also to train professionals who are ready to take on the new challenges facing organizations, particularly in terms of sustainable development, social responsibility and ethics, as well as technological change.
Know-how and skills
In large organizations, they are more likely to carry out more specialized management activities in the fields of management, marketing and sales, purchasing and logistics.... In public sector organizations, they are likely to work in finance or general administration.
He/she is capable of designing an organization's value creation strategy and managing and developing the value chain. He/she has a good command of digital tools, knows how to analyze data and effectively synthesize their presentation in both French and English.
At IUT Montpellier-Sète, local adaptations are focused on CSR - environmental and social - and more specifically on the circular economy at the Sète site.

Holders of the BUT Gestion des entreprises et des administrations : gestion entrepreneuriat et management d'activités (Business and administrative management: entrepreneurship and activity management) will occupy positions of intermediate responsibility in the fields of management, administration and activity development, within all types of organization (companies, associations, administrations) and in all sectors of activity.
It can also be part of the process of setting up or taking over a business.
Types of jobs available :
- multi-skilled manager in SMEs,
- manager of a micro-business, SME, sales agency or profit center,
- marketing assistant,
- assistant product manager,
- project manager,
- development manager,
- account manager
With experience, they progress to managerial positions.
