Objectives

  • To enable learners to use GPS and GIS independently so that they can master the entire process—from data collection to analysis—in the context of fieldwork involving naturalist expeditions and biodiversity research.
  • Understand database organization and queries for querying vector layers.
  • Provide training on the use of open-source GIS software (QuantumGIS) for working with spatial data and mapping.
