Overview

The course is designed to provide legal professionals with practical training in artificial intelligence tools. No such training program, focused on AI and the management of related data, currently exists in France for legal professionals.
The course is offered in partnership with the Montpellier Bar Association and its incubator, which identified this need.
Primarily intended for continuing education, the course will also be open to 10 students in their initial legal training (with a discounted rate for students receiving financial aid) out of a total of 40 students.
The certification program offers a 34-hour training module, consisting of 10 hours of e-learning and 24 hours of hybrid instruction (in-person or remote) in Montpellier.
Objectives
Understand the artificial intelligence industry and master its tools through the art of “prompting” and controlling the results produced by artificial intelligence.
Understand the legal artificial intelligence tools available on the market.
Master the management of the data required by artificial intelligence tools.
Learn the Fundamentals and Practical Applications of AI and Data for Legal Professionals
The goal of the program is to provide legal professionals with a level of expertise in artificial intelligence that enables them to build their own AI solutions and tools.
The “expert” micro-certification module in AI is designed to train students in AI project management (project definition, tool design, and deployment). Students will design, individually or in groups, tools powered by artificial intelligence.
In doing so, they will develop the skills to conduct a legal assessment of an AI project in light of the AI Act, the GDPR, and intellectual property law, as well as to evaluate the operational feasibility of their idea.
On a more technical level, they will learn to use artificial intelligence tools to set up a functional Python development environment, AI pipelines leveraging APIs from major providers, and retrieval-augmented search (RAG) systems on a document corpus.
