Overview

TheMAGISTÈRE INAPPLIEDPUBLIC LAW is a three-year university diploma (DU) program that, in addition to the coursework offered in the third year of the Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Year 1, and Master’s Year 2, practical application of public law through case studies, practical simulations, and the analysis of cases provided by public law professionals, attorneys, public officials, and administrative and judicial magistrates. The program also includes courses taught by university faculty, providing students with the fundamentals of subjects outside their chosen track (elements of private law) and highly specialized instruction in the third year of the Magistère.
The Magistère program responds to a need expressed by legal practitioners, who welcome students equipped with a practical and applied understanding of public law to complement their initial training.

Admission Requirements

* Based on application materials and an interview.
Students who were not part of the program during their first year and who earned a grade of at least 13/20 on their third-year bachelor’s degree exams, or who can demonstrate special circumstances, may apply for admission to the second year (Magistère 2), subject to available space. Applications are reviewed by a Graduate Studies Committee.

Mandatory Prerequisites

Terms of Access

Selection is based on an application review at the end of the second year of the bachelor’s degree program, taking into account the applicants’ academic performance and motivation. Applications are reviewed by an Academic Advancement Committee to determine eligibility. Admission is based on selection interviews.

Students who were not enrolled in the program during their first year and who earned a grade of at least 12/20 on their third-year bachelor’s degree exams, or who can demonstrate special circumstances, may apply for admission to the second year (Magistère 2). Applications are reviewed by the Graduate Studies Council and are granted subject to the availability of spots in the current cohort.
