The International Trade Professions professional license, International Sales Technician course, offered by the IUT Montpellier-Sète, is only available on a sandwich course basis (professionalization contract) in partnership with AFPI-LR. This one-year sandwich course prepares future managers to manage international trade operations in the specific context of small and medium-sized businesses.

Know-how and skills

Reporting to the company manager or a sales executive, the holder of the professional license must be able to :

  • Managing the constraints and opportunities created by changes in trade ;
  • Analyze international markets and organize strategic and commercial intelligence;
  • Implement and/or improve customer service, act as interface between customer and production;
  • Lead a business development project and interface with production players;
  • Sell and buy on markets and/or manage foreign customer/supplier relations in English and another foreign language;
  • Managing intercultural differences and specific business customs and practices ;
  • Present and promote an organization or product orally and in writing in French and a foreign language;
  • Use the various forms of assistance available to SMIs to support their commercial development in France and abroad;
  • Integrate new information and communication technologies into daily business practices;
  • Manage customs procedures and international regulations.

The special schedule of one week of classes per month means that the work-study program is located a long way from Montpellier.

Program

Start date: September
Length of course: 441h.
Duration: 12 months on a sandwich course (September to August), including 13 weeks at the IUT and/or AFPI-LR (courses) and 34 weeks in a company (internship/professional activities/project).
Work-study schedule: 1 week at Montpellier IUT or AFPI-LR for 3 weeks in a regional company.
Teaching is carried out by university lecturers and at least 25% by professional lecturers.
The work experience/internship period and the tutored project ensure that students acquire solid skills over the two semesters of the professional license.
Validation of the diploma leads to 60 European credits.
This course leads to:
- a national diploma awarded by the University of Montpellier and run by the Marketing Techniques department of the Montpellier IUT,
in partnership with the Association de Formation Professionnelle de l'Industrie du Languedoc-Roussillon (AFPI-LR);
- the Certificat de Qualification Paritaire de la Métallurgie n°0213 "Animateur du Développement Commercial de la PME PMI par l'International et l'innovation".

Admission

Access conditions

Online registration procedure for a limited time: ecandidat.umontpellier.fr.

Registration for a Licence Professionnelle at the IUT consists of 3 stages. Each stage must be validated before moving on to the next:

Step 1 - Acceptance of the application :

  • Hold a Bac +2 or equivalent*.
  • Complete file.

Stage 2 - Eligibility Admissibility: Decided by a pedagogical committee after examination of the application (Curriculum Vitae, Letter of Motivation, Transcript of grades... details on e-candidat). Subject to certain conditions, the committee may request additional documents.

Step 3 - Final admission Final admission: Subject to the signature of a work-study contract (apprenticeship or professionalization contract) within a company with assignments in line with the LPro theme, within the limits of available training places.
