Presentation
Developed within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the vocational degree in industrial trades: metallurgy, materials shaping and welding, course: welded assemblies, is a continuation of the strengthened teaching of welding.
We would also like to highlight the awarding of International Welding Technologist (IWT) certification by the Association Française du Soudage (AFS), which is based on a normative description of graduates' skills at international level. This certification has become essential for all companies in the mechanical engineering sector, enabling them to respond to numerous calls for tender.
The training program meets a strong demand from the industry, which needs to recruit professionals in welding trades ranging from specialist welders to welding engineers, and which still finds very few qualified people on the job market.
By training around twenty level II welding coordinators each year, the IUT de Nîmes is one of only 5 centers in France, and the only public institution, to deliver this certification.
