Presentation
Aeronautics, a growth sector in Occitania!
The Montpellier and Nîmes region is also a major training centre and is part of this dynamic. A dynamic supported by the University of Montpellier, which has created a professional degree in "Industrial trades, aeronautical industry" in order to meet the needs of this rapidly expanding sector, in which there are many job opportunities.
This professional degree offers two tracks:
- The Avionics Systems Maintenance (MSA)course , on the Montpellier IUT website,
The LP MSA is a sandwich course only.
IUT Montpellier website:
https://iut-montpellier-sete.edu.umontpellier.fr/licence-professionnelle-metiers-de-lindustrie-aeronautique/
- The Expertise and Maintenance of Composite Materials (E2MCA)course, on the site of the IUT of Nîmes,
The LP E2MCA is carried out in initial or alternating courses.
Website IUT NÎMES:

Objectives
Both courses aim to train specialists in the organisation, technical implementation and management of aircraft maintenance tasks.
Programme
The teaching is carried out by each respective component, namely
- for the course MSAat the Physical Measurements Department at theIUT of Montpellier,
- for the E2MCA course, at the Science and Materials Engineering Department at theNîmes IUT and at the Garons airport site.
The courses are organised into lectures and tutorials. For each of the courses, they are made up of teaching units (UE) which are specific to their field.

AVIONICS SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE
The objective of the Professional Licence in Industry: Aeronautical Industry, Avionics Systems Maintenance course is to train middle managers, specialists in the organisation, technical implementation and supervision of aircraft and related avionics systems maintenance tasks.
Expertise and Maintenance of Composite Materials in Aeronautics
Because composite materials are complex, the future technician will have to combine mechanics and chemistry to assess, repair or design composite parts.
The " Expertise and Maintenance of Composite Materials (E2MCA) " degree complements the existing training courses in the Nîmes - Montpellier aeronautical competence centre. It is specialised in the maintenance of composite material parts.
The aeronautics and space sector is continuing its transformation towards all-composite materials. The race for profitability involves lightening the aircraft, to the benefit of the payload. Composite materials are very complex and require highly skilled technicians. The degree will enable you to understand the process/material interactions and will make you competent in the reconstruction of composite materials.
It should be noted that aeronautics has always been the spearhead of high value-added lightweight materials, but high-performance carbon, flax and aramid reinforcements are becoming more widespread, and are now used in the nautical, sports and leisure, automotive and even construction sectors.
