Presentation
Maintenance is an essential item in the industry. It generates considerable costs which have an impact on the functioning of a company.
Managing and organizing maintenance is therefore essential in all sectors of activity and leads to systematic or corrective maintenance plans.
Knowing the materials in operation as well as their behavior in a constrained environment (dry or aqueous corrosion, abrasion, aging ...) is a plus that allows to improve or even optimize the management of maintenance in order to reduce costs.
This training is attached to the Materials Science & Engineering department of the IUT of Nîmes (part of the University of Montpellier) which has expertise in the field of materials (teachers, equipment and technical platform ANAMAT of ANAlyse des MATériaux). The "maintenance" part is taught at the Albert Einstein High School in Bagnols sur Cèze, which already has a BTS MI (Industrial Maintenance) and therefore has expertise in this field.
The originality of the MI2MC professional license is therefore the combination of these two skills. It presents a growing interest in the companies that already welcome students.
The work-study program offered in this program (professionalization contracts and apprenticeship contracts) provides an opening to the job market in all types of companies: large groups and small and medium-sized businesses (AREVA, CEA, MELOX, EDF, Owens Corning, Lafarge, BASF, Rhodia, Engie, La Compagnie du Vent, etc.). The professional integration is very important and the possibility of evolution with this diploma is real.
Objectives
The Industrial Maintenance and Materials in Constrained Environments professional degree prepares future middle managers between senior technicians and engineers.
Graduates of this degree are responsible for managing, organizing, optimizing and steering maintenance operations with knowledge of the behavior of materials in harsh environments:
- in-house or on site,
- in or outside controlled access areas.
They are required to manage:
- teams of workers and preparers as subcontractors,
- teams of workers from several subcontractors as principals
Know-how and skills
On the one hand, the holders of this professional license must know all the basics related to the maintenance policy. In this context, they must acquire notions of legislation and economic management related to the profession.
On the other hand, they will develop expertise in materials in severe environments. They will acquire scientific knowledge on all materials, on corrosion phenomena in dry and wet environments and on expertise methods with a good foundation in non-destructive testing.
Organization
Internships, tutored projects
➔ 140 h: hourly volume of the tutored project
The tutored project is set up in collaboration with the apprenticeship master and the pedagogical tutor.
The project is monitored throughout the year: in the company for its preparation and execution; in the classroom to ensure that it is understood and that it fits in with the content.
The internship and the tutored project are the subject of a thesis and a defense.
Program
The training:
➔ 455 h: hourly volume of teaching (excluding internship and tutored project) at the Polyvalent Albert Einstein High School in Bagnols-sur-Cèze and at the IUT of Nîmes in the Science and Engineering of Materials department.

Admission
Target audience
Holders of Bac +2 degrees
A study of the files is carried out by the educational manager. Two lists are drawn up: a main list and a complementary list. Students who have an admissible file and who have a promise of a contract, or an apprenticeship or professionalization contract with a project corresponding to the training are given priority.
Necessary pre-requisites
Holders of a BTS (Industrial Maintenance, Mechanics and Industrial Automation, Mechanical Engineering and Production, Control, Installation, Regulation and Automation, Electrical Engineering, Physical Techniques for Industry and the Laboratory)
Holders of a DUT (Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Process Engineering)
Holders of a L2 (Mention Sciences)
