Presentation
Maintenance is an essential part of the industrial process. It generates considerable costs which have an impact on a company's operations.
Managing and organizing maintenance is therefore essential in all sectors of activity, and leads to systematic or corrective maintenance plans.
Knowledge of materials in operation and their behavior in a constrained environment (dry or aqueous corrosion, abrasion, ageing, etc.) is a plus which helps to improve or even optimize maintenance management with a view to reducing costs.
This course is attached to the Materials Science & Engineering department of the IUT de Nîmes (part of the University of Montpellier), which has expertise in the field of materials (teachers, equipment and ANAMAT (ANAlyse des MATériaux) technical platform). The "maintenance" part is taught at the Lycée Albert Einstein in Bagnols sur Cèze, which already has a BTS MI (Industrial Maintenance) and therefore has expertise in this field.
The originality of the MI2MC professional license lies in the combination of these two skills. It is attracting growing interest from companies that are already taking on students.
The sandwich course offered in this program (professionalization contracts and apprenticeship contracts) provides an opening onto the job market in all types of companies: major groups and SME-SMIs (AREVA, CEA, MELOX, EDF, Owens Corning, Lafarge, BASF, Rhodia, Engie, La Compagnie du Vent, etc.). Professional integration is very high, and there is a real possibility of advancement with this diploma.
Objectives
The Industrial Maintenance and Materials in Constrained Environments professional degree prepares future middle managers between senior technicians and engineers.
Graduates of this degree are responsible for managing, organizing, optimizing and steering maintenance operations, with a thorough understanding of the behavior of materials in harsh environments:
- in-house or on site,
- in or outside controlled-access zones.
They are required to supervise:
- teams of subcontractors and preparers,
- teams of subcontractors as principals.
Know-how and skills
On the one hand, holders of this professional license must be familiar with all the basics of maintenance policy. In this context, they must acquire notions of legislation and economics/management related to the profession.
Secondly, they will develop expertise in materials in harsh environments. They will acquire scientific knowledge of all materials, of corrosion phenomena in dry and wet environments, and of assessment methods, with a good grounding in non-destructive testing.
Organization
Internships, tutored projects
➔ 140 h: hourly volume of the tutored project
The tutored project is set up in collaboration with the apprenticeship supervisor and the educational tutor.
The project is monitored throughout the year: at the company, for its preparation and implementation; at the course, for its understanding and relevance to the content.
Internships and tutored projects are the subject of a dissertation and an oral presentation.
Program
The training:
➔ 455 h: hourly volume of teaching (excluding internship and tutored project) at the Lycée Polyvalent Albert Einstein in Bagnols-sur-Cèze and at the IUT de Nîmes in the Science and Materials Engineering department.
