This degree program trains students for careers in the development and implementation of educational projects (for all audiences, throughout their lives) on issues related to the environment and sustainable development. It can be taken as an initial training program or as a work-study program.

Know-how and skills

Educational responsibility and involvement in EEDD training:
Trained in education sciences and pedagogy in the field of the environment, graduates will also acquire in-depth knowledge of the actors and issues specific to sustainable development, as well as the skills necessary for team management and project leadership.

Network coordination:
Facilitating the flow of information, implementing participatory practices, initiating projects and bringing together stakeholders and partners, organizing events and demonstrations.


Consulting and mediation:
Identifying regional issues and stakeholder motivations, and implementing consultation and negotiation processes.
Helping local authorities and schools move towards sustainable development.

The particularities of work-study programs:


• 18 weeks of classes, 34 weeks in a company


• 5 to 6 periods at the Florac Institute lasting 1 to 4 weeks

Program

The program is organized over one academic year, starting in September, in Florac, Lozère. It includes:
• two weeks of immersion at the Florac institute and one week of work experience in a company or association (with the employer for work-study students);
• lectures and tutorials: 400 hours. Part of the teaching will be active and project-based;
• Supervised project: 130 hours;
• Professional integration: 14 weeks from April to June / in a company as part of a work-study program or continuing education;
• Assessment: continuous assessment or final assessment at the end of each module. Oral defense of the mandatory report;
• A "Professional and Personal Project" module prepares students for their professional integration.

 

Training program:

UE 0: Upgrading and project planning: collective immersion in a region and professional culture (91 hours)
- Discovering the training region
- Observing and analyzing the role of EEDD project coordinator in a professional setting
- Collective expertise/consulting mission in a professional setting


UE 1: Integrating projects into local communities and major societal issues (100 hours - ECTS credits: 6)
- Examining and embracing the societal issues of EEDD
- Knowing how to build a scientific culture in EEDD
- Integrating the project into changing local communities
- Receiving support and sharing your personal and professional project


UE 2: Educational, teaching, and training trends in EEDD (80 hours - ECTS credits: 5)
- Adopting a scientific approach to educational issues in EEDD
- Knowing how to justify pedagogical and educational choices
- Adopting the approach and skills necessary for training interventions


UE 3: Coordination and support approaches (70 hours - ECTS credits: 4)
- Distinguish between and master the tools and approaches used by advisors, support staff, and mediators
- Learn about tools that promote reflection and change in support and training
- Know how to analyze the actual activities of an EEDD project coordinator


UE 4: Modern languages and communication (50 hours - ECTS credits: 4)
- Practicing a foreign language while promoting confidence and self-esteem
- Knowing how to use professional language related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in a foreign language
- Speaking in public with ease to present a project, an action, etc.


UE 5: Leading and coordinating work groups (70 hours - ECTS credits: 5)
- Coordinating a team of facilitators or a group of professionals
- Knowing how to structure discussions and meetings in line with the objectives and participants present


UE 6: Writing and designing an EEDD project for a region (90 hours - ECTS credits: 6)
- Ability to design, write, and plan the monitoring of a project
- Identify the different statuses and operations of EEDD partner structures
- Know how to interact with a communications provider


UE 7: Tutored project (140 hours - ECTS credits: 10)
Apprentices/work-study students will be at their employers' premises during this UE. They will write a thesis or activity report to assess UE 7 and 8 at the same time (adapted assessment grid).


UE 8: Professional experience and report/thesis writing (490 hours - ECTS credits: 20)
- The report will detail the professional experience and its analysis.
• In "traditional" training: based on the experience gained during the internship (minimum 14 weeks),
• In work-study programs: based on tasks identified in consultation with the employer and the training manager. The activity report will be used to assess EU 7 and 8 at the same time (adapted assessment grid).

Admission requirements


Holders of a two-year postsecondary degree (DUT, BTSA, DEUST, L2) in the fields of environment, geography, biology, education sciences, or social work.


In continuing education: job seekers, employees in the manufacturing, consulting, and environmental sectors as part of their company's training plan (CPF) or individual training leave (CIF).

Work-study program: as part of an apprenticeship contract (under 26 years of age) or a one-year professional training contract.

Selection is based on application and interview.
