Presentation
This degree covers urban and industrial wastewater treatment, as well as water purification (level II accreditation), while preserving knowledge of reference technologies for the analysis of living organisms.
Objectives
The GASTE professional degree aims to train multi-skilled middle managers (level II) in the field of water treatment systems:
- Treatment and analysis processes.
- Sub-product management, Management.
- Technical maintenance of treatment systems.
- Remote management.

Know-how and skills
At the end of the training, the candidate will be able to :
- Set up an urban, industrial or agricultural water treatment system
- Adapt to and optimize any treatment system. Master the water and sludge treatment process (biological and physico-chemical treatment)
- Draw up a preventive maintenance schedule. Implement
curative maintenance: detect and identify any malfunctions and resolve them
- Perform analyses (pH, TA, TAC, turbidity, COT, DTO, DBO,
DCO, ...) and master the corresponding instrumentation, in-situ and in the laboratory (on sampling)
- Master the concepts of hydraulics, water network sizing and professional geomatics software
- Know the regulatory context and management methods of wastewater services.

- Manager/technical manager in a water treatment plant, whether for drinking water production or urban or industrial wastewater treatment.
- Technical manager of a water treatment plant maintenance department.
- Technical manager in a consulting firm in the sanitation sector.

The course is available as a conventional or sandwich course.
Work-study programs are offered under apprenticeship or professionalization contracts.
Continuing education also includes retraining or VAE.

Registration for a Licence Professionnelle at the IUT consists of 3 stages. Each stage must be validated before moving on to the next:
Step 1 - Acceptance of the application :
- Hold a Bac +2 or equivalent*.
- Complete file.
Stage 2 - Eligibility Admissibility: Decided by a pedagogical committee after examination of the application (Curriculum Vitae, Letter of Motivation, Transcript of grades... details on e-candidat). Subject to certain conditions, the committee may request additional documents.
Step 3 - Final admission Final admission: Subject to the signature of a work-study contract (apprenticeship or professionalization contract) within a company with assignments in line with the LPro theme, within the limits of available training places.
*Suitable profiles: Holders of a Bac+2 scientific diploma: DUT (Chemistry, GEII, Physical Measurements, Industrial Maintenance...), BTS (GEMEAU, Water Professions, Electrical Engineering, CRSA...), L2...
