Training structure
Faculty of Science, Continuing Education Department
Presentation
During the short course on polymers, you will first learn about the general properties of polymer materials in their solid state, then you will perform and interpret mechanical and thermal tests to characterize polymers.
The lessons delivered during this training course aim to provide skills in thermomechanical analysis of polymers:
- Measurement of characteristic temperatures (Tg, Tf, Tc, Td) using DSC and TGA
- Measurement of mechanical properties: tensile tests
- Measurement of thermomechanical properties using DMA and rheometer
The advantages of the training program
Objectives
By the end of this training, you will be able to:
- explain the relationship between the structure and properties of a material
- to choose the characterization technique that allows the structure of a polymer to be identified
- explain the thermomechanical properties of polymers in the solid state
Program
