Pix certification is a national certification recognized throughout Europe, whose objective is to support the improvement of general digital knowledge and skills and thus prepare for the digital transformation of our entire society and economy.
Obtaining Pix certification allows you to demonstrate your level of proficiency in digital technology and its uses.

Know-how and skills
The Pix platform assesses your proficiency in five major areas and 16 digital skills from the European DigComp Reference Framework:
- Information and data (Search engines, information monitoring, fake news, file organization, use of spreadsheets, etc.)
- Communication and collaboration (Email, calendar, social media, collaborative tools, e-citizenship, etc.)
- Content creation (Word processing, images, sound and video, layout, copyright, programming, etc.)
- Protection and security (Personal data, accessibility, workplace ergonomics, cybersecurity, environmental impacts of digital technology, cyberbullying)
- Digital environment (Technical problem solving, operating systems, components, history of computing, etc.)
Your score in each area is rated on an 8-level scale ranging from novice (levels 1 and 2) to expert (levels 7 and 8), including independent (levels 3 and 4) and advanced (levels 5 and 6).
In order to guarantee the professional value of the certification, you must achieve a level between 3 and 4 in the 16 skills (i.e., a minimum of 384 PIX credits).
Program
The program includes five in-person group sessions in semester 1 (in September and December). the dates will be communicated to you at a later date :
- Day 1 (6:30 a.m., two 15-minute breaks)
Areas of expertise: D3 - Content creation, D2 - Communication and collaboration, D5 - Digital environment
Context, challenges, tools, resources, and how it works (30 min)
Binary and Huffman coding (45 min)
Word processing (LibreOffice, Writer: 45 min)
Spreadsheet (LibreOffice, Calc: 1 hour)
Presentation tools (LibreOffice, Impress: 45 min)
Making documents accessible to everyone (30 min)
Collaborative tools (Framasoft suite: 30 min)
Practical session on the Pix platform (1 hour 15 minutes)
- Day 2 (7 hours, 2 breaks of 15 minutes)
Areas of expertise: D3 - Content creation, D4 - Protection and Security
Programming (3 hours 45 minutes): Linux (tree structure basics) / Python (execution loop) / SQL (database extraction) / HTML/CSS (code compression and correction)
Data security (45 minutes)
Data encryption (45 minutes)
Practical session on the Pix platform (1.5 hours)
- Day 3 (6:30 a.m., two 15-minute breaks)

Photo analysis (1 hour): location and modifications
Software image processing (1 hour): Inkscape and GIMP
Video editing (1 hour): Shotcut
Search engine (30 min)
Internet search: Boolean (30 min)
Rights and use of Internet documents (45 min)
Practical session on the Pix platform (1 hour 15 minutes)
- Day 4 (4 hours, 1 15-minute break)
Areas of expertise: D3 - Content creation, D4 - Protection and Security
Information monitoring, fake news (1 hour)
Messaging and social media (30 min)
Chabot equipped with generative AI (Chat GPT) (1 hour)
Practical session on the Pix platform: Free choice of skills in the presence of a teacher (1 hour 15 minutes)
- Remote monitoring until the day of certification (6 hours):
One session per week to answer your questions and help you solve specific exercises (1 hour in the evening from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

Mandatory prerequisites
In order to participate in the Pix training program, candidates must be able to read, write, and count, and know how to use the basic functions of a computer ( mouse and keyboard).
They must also have a basic understanding of how to use their computer workstation and online communication tools in order to access educational materials and participate in the online activities offered.
Expected results
In order to guarantee the professional value of the certification, learners must achieve a level between 3 and 4 in the 16 skills (i.e., a minimum of 384 Pix, adapted to the learner's needs).
