Training to become a mentor for work-study students (on apprenticeship and/or professional training contracts) isessential toprovide the best possible support for your new recruits in the company.

The short course "Acting as a tutor for work-study students" consists of11 hoursof training spread over 1.5 days.

During this short training course, you will learn about the challenges of work-study programs, the role of the tutor, the development of the mentee in the company and at school, the different stages of tutoring, and the transmission of knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

DAY 1: THE MENTORED STUDENT IN THE COMPANY (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

  • Being a tutor
    Positioning yourself in the role of tutor
    Identifying the keys to success in the role of tutor
  • Supporting the mentee
    Co-creating a path to success
    Establishing effective communication

TRAINEE AT THE TRAINING CENTER (1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.)

  • The various stakeholders and their roles
  • Learner responsibilities and obligations
    Attendance and punctuality requirements
    Commitments to the training center
    The company's right of oversight
  • Dialogue between the workplace mentor, the mentee, and the academic mentor
    The role and responsibilities of the academic mentor
    Meetings and discussions
    Conflict management in the tripartite relationship

DAY 2: SHARING EXPERIENCES AND DISCUSSIONS AMONG PEERS (9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

  • Group workshop for sharing experiences (successes, difficulties, questions, etc.)
  • A look back at monitoring tools, their deployment, and their adaptations
  • Focus on intermediate validation, feedback, and traceability

DAY 3: FEEDBACK AND REVIEW (9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

  • Different perspectives on the journey of tutors
