Skills acquired at the end of the training:

At the end of the course, students will:

  • Is familiar with the specifications relating to standard and custom-made orthotics and external breast prostheses that can be dispensed in pharmacies (see Title II, Chapters 1 and 4 of the LPP).
  • Knows the regulations relating to the premises and equipment required for orthopedics, pricing, and the renewal of orthotics.
  • Knows the practical methods for measuring, making, fitting, adjusting, and applying medical and surgical belts, compression orthoses, clothing for severe burn victims, hernia trusses, limb orthoses, foot orthoses, therapeutic shoes, and external breast prostheses.
  • Can effectively advise patients on the orthotic device best suited to their condition.

Knowledge assessment

April 17, 2026 (date subject to change)

  • Written theory test: 1 hour 30 minutes, weighted 1
  • Orthotic assessments: 30 minutes, coefficient 1
  • Continuous assessment in practical work: weighting 1

Any grade below 5/20 is eliminatory.

 Successful candidates have obtained an average score of 10/20 or higher in all three tests, with no failing grades.

Two exam sessions

 Candidates who have been deferred in thefirst session retain the benefit of marks obtained equal to or greater than 10/20 for thesecond session.
