Objectives

The aim of this course is to give students a better command of legal writing in English, while developing their knowledge of Anglo-Saxon law.

Each module includes a methodology, corrected exercises and explanatory videos.

Written expression in English as well as oral and written comprehension are the skills worked on in D.E.

This D.E. will be a real asset for students wishing to demonstrate their skills in written legal English, whether they are applying for a Masters degree or applying to law firms or companies with an international presence.

This course is the fruit of collaboration between academics specializing in legal English and English-speaking legal professionals.

- Professional communication in companies or law firms (drafting letters, e-mails, legal watch, conclusions, minutes, etc.)

- Drafting of legal documents (different types of contracts, confidentiality agreements, etc.).

Program

Entirely on Moodle.

2 modules consisting of videos, lessons and corrected exercises, representing around 30 hours of fully autonomous training.

In each module, an activity will be corrected by the teacher and given individual feedback.

Each module is then evaluated on a fixed date for all registrants.

The D.E. is awarded on the basis of an average grade in each module.

Each year, there will be two exam dates (one in January for students enrolled before early December, and one in April/May for students enrolled after 1/12).

You will be given the dates of the final exams when you register.

Necessary prerequisites

Open to all from L2 Law, without selection.

A minimum B1 level in English is required to get the most out of this D.E.
