Objectives
This institutional degree program aims to train future professionals and enhance the training of professionals from various sectors who work with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence by offering interdisciplinary, theoretical and practical, taught by academics and professionals in order to optimize the identification and care of victims and perpetrators, encourage reporting, and, more generally, strengthen the fight against this type of crime.
Program
Courses are taught by academics and professionals (judges, attorneys, police officers, psychologists, psychiatrists, medical examiners, etc.) and will enable students to acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas: 130 hours
MODULE 1: IDENTIFICATION AND DEFINITION OF VIF
Overview of offenses falling under the VIF category, aggravating circumstances, criminal immunity
, direct and indirect victims, criminal classification by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, criminal responses (alternatives to
prosecution and sentencing...)
MODULE 2: REPORTING AND INVESTIGATION OF VIF
Examination of reporting procedures, professional confidentiality, consequences of failure to report, risk
, criminal liability, complaints, investigative actions, and prosecutions...
MODULE 3: DETECTING AND DOCUMENTING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
The concept of control, profiles of victims and perpetrators, addiction and domestic violence, documenting physical, sexual, psychological, and economic
, the impact of domestic violence on children...
MODULE 4: SUPPORT FOR VICTIMS AND PERPETRATORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Study and presentation of the procedures for sentencing perpetrators of domestic violence, measures to protect victims
of domestic violence, support services for perpetrators and victims, and compensation for victims of domestic violence.

Admission Requirements: One year of post-secondary education
Students in initial training (medicine, law, psychology, etc.) and professionals in continuing education (legal professionals [attorneys], professionals in the medical-social sector [doctors, midwives, psychologists, social workers, etc.], the educational and
sector [school district offices, teachers, etc.], the nonprofit sector [CIDFF, CIMADE, ALMA, victim support organizations, etc.]), as well as government agency staff (prefectures, CAF, etc.) and local government employees (municipalities, departments).
