Target audience

• Initial training:
- students in the DES (Specialized Studies Diploma) in Cardiovascular Medicine who have completed their second year (beginning of third year)
- foreign students enrolled in DFMS/DFMSA: cardiology specialty

• Continuing education:
-Doctors of Medicine (DE) who hold a DES (specialized studies diploma) in Cardiology and Vascular Diseases or a DES in Cardiovascular Medicine, or a Capacité (specialized studies certificate) in Cardiology
-Doctors of Medicine (DE) who hold a DES in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, or a DES in Intensive Care Medicine, or a DESC (specialized studies certificate) in Medical Intensive Care
-Doctors of Medicine DE, holders of the DES in Nephrology
-Doctors of Medicine DE, holders of the DESC in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, or the DES in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery
-Doctors of Medicine DE, holders of the DES in Internal Medicine

-Registered nurses: Registered nurses working in a unit specializing in heart failure or responsible for monitoring transplant or assisted patients (VAD coordinator), as evidenced by a letter from the head of the department/IPA Chronic Diseases

-upon individual exemption granted by the Educational Commission: a specialist physician may be authorized to prepare for the DIU given a particular interest in this additional training (e.g., DES or DESC in Emergency Medicine, etc.).
