Objectives
To improve clinical research capacity in Uganda, particularly in the area of clinical trials, by introducing the methodological principles of clinical trials, the operational aspects related to their implementation and monitoring, and the regulatory aspects.
Know-how and skills
Acquired Skills:
Understanding of the fundamental principles of comparative clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy and safety of medical interventions.
-Understanding of the benefit and operational aspects of randomization.
-Understanding of the benefit, indications and operational aspects of double-blind trials.
-Understanding of the ethical issues and rationale for regulation of clinical trials.
-Knowledge of Good Clinical and Laboratory Practice and regulatory aspects of clinical trials.Knowledge of Good Clinical and Laboratory Practices and regulatory aspects related to clinical trials.
-Knowledge of the main methodological characteristics of clinical trials.
-Knowledge of the principles of sample size calculation and statistical analysis for clinical trials.
-Knowledge of CONSORT criteria for reporting results and ability to critically review clinical trial results.
-Understanding of the operational issues involved in setting up and monitoring clinical trials.

Admission
How to register
A registration authorization is required and must be attached to a pre-registration file.

- Initial training:
-students enrolled in the 2nd year of the Master of Public Health of the MUST (in Uganda)
- Continuing education:
-health professionals (doctors, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists, etc. ...)
-veterinarians with experience or interest in medical research or public health
