Objectives
Improve clinical research capabilities in Uganda, particularly in the field of clinical trials, by introducing the methodological principles of clinical trials, the operational aspects related to their implementation and monitoring, and regulatory aspects.
Know-how and skills
Skills acquired:
-Understanding the fundamental principles of comparative clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy and tolerance of medical interventions.
-Understanding the benefits and operational aspects of randomization.
-Understanding of the benefits, indications, and operational aspects of double-blind trials.
-Understanding of the ethical issues and justification for the regulations governing clinical trials.
-Knowledge of Good Clinical and Laboratory Practices and the regulatory aspects of clinical trials.
-Knowledge of the main methodological characteristics of clinical trials.
-Knowledge of sample size calculation and statistical analysis principles for clinical trials.
-Knowledge of CONSORT criteria for presenting results and ability to critically review clinical trial results.
-Understanding of the operational challenges of setting up and monitoring clinical trials.

-certified copies of your diplomas
Target audience
• Initial training:
-students enrolled in the second year of the Master's in Public Health at MUST (in Uganda)
• Continuing education:
-health professionals (doctors, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists, etc.)
-veterinarians with experience or interest in medical research or public health.
