The Responsible Procurement in Healthcare Diploma is awarded by Montpellier Management (University of Montpellier) in partnership with Cesegh.
The training is provided jointly by university lecturers and professionals from the healthcare sector.
Objectives
The objectives of this training are multiple:
- Learn to identify selection criteria to meet regulatory objectives and major social, ethical, and environmental challenges specific to the healthcare sector.
- Create a community of buyers, influencers, suppliers, public and private entities, and healthcare organizations working toward multifaceted performance that incorporates sustainability.
- Make health, social, and medico-social procurement policy a lever for improvement and reduction of economic, social, and environmental impacts.
Program
Module 1 – Context, challenges, and impacts of the sector (continuous assessment) – 9 hours
- Apply and anticipate industry regulations
- Identify key issues related to purchasing
Module 2 – Structuring the purchasing function (continuous assessment) – 9 hours
- Developing policies and procedures
- Developing a systemic approach to purchasing
- Define the roles of stakeholders (buyers, specifiers, users, etc.)
Module 3 – Managing responsible purchasing (continuous assessment) – 12 hours
- Define an efficient responsible purchasing policy and monitor the achievement of objectives through key performance indicators.
- Establish the training plan for professionals
- Optimizing sourcing methods / Network of expertise
- Identify the actors and facilitators of responsible purchasing (purchasing groups, institutional, regional, and associative actors).
Module 4 – Responsible purchasing processes (continuous assessment) – 21 hours
- Ensure risk management for purchases by product family (e.g., ethical companies)
- Respond to identified risks with informed selection criteria and proportionate clauses
- Have the ability to apply total cost of ownership
- Identify functional requirements
- Evaluate purchasing performance internally
- Conducting responsible supplier relationships
Module 5 – Method and tools (continuous assessment) – 14 hours
- Develop performance contracts
- Conduct external evaluations of supplier performance
- Environmental assessments of solutions (LCA, FDES, labels, etc.)
- Pooling inter-organizational purchases
- Understanding the constraints of the public purchaser
Module 6 – Stakeholders (continuous assessment) – 10 hours
- Develop a map of external stakeholders
- Identify sources and levers of financing
- Exercise influence
Assessment method: 1 written and/or oral exam as part of continuous assessment per teaching module
