POLYTECH ENGINEERING SCHOOL COURSE (PEIP)

  • Duration

    2 years

  • Training structure

    Polytech Montpellier

Presentation

The PeiP (POLYTECH engineering school program) is intended for students with a scientific baccalaureate who wish to enter an engineering training program immediately after the baccalaureate. It is a two-year preparatory cycle, during which students receive a general education that allows them to enter an "engineering cycle" in any of the 15 schools in the POLYTECH network. The 15 schools in the POLYTECH network are all public schools under the authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and award engineering degrees recognized by the Commission des titres d'ingénieur (CTI), the only organization in France authorized to evaluate engineering training. In Montpellier, the PEIP A, B and C courses are offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Montpellier.

The advantages of the training

A SECURE COURSE AND A VARIED CHOICE

If they have passed their PeiP A (STI) or B (BIO), students are guaranteed to continue in the engineering cycle within the POLYTECH network. They will have direct access to more than 100 engineering specialties in the 15 schools of the POLYTECH network. The final assignment will be based on the student's wishes and on his or her national ranking. He/she may use the teaching credits obtained in PeiP to continue his/her studies in another course at L3 level.

Objectives

  • A national recruitment for a national network.
  • A generalist education in a bachelor's degree program or an IUT.
  • Specific teaching and individual or group support (tutoring, support) by engineering students and the teaching team.
  • An opening onto the industrial world: knowledge of the company, professional interventions, internships in France and abroad.

A TRAINING COURSE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FACULTY OF SCIENCES OF MONTPELLIER

A multidisciplinary scientific and technical foundation is taught jointly with the Montpellier Faculty of Sciences via a course adapted for PeiP students. Specific engineering courses and modern language courses are taught by the POLYTECH Montpellier school. COURSE A (STI) Course A (engineering sciences and techniques) gives access to all the engineering specialties in the POLYTECH network, except for "Biological engineering - biotechnologies" in Marseille and "Biological engineering" in Nice. COURSE B (BIO) Course B (biology) gives access to 14 engineering specialties in the network, focused on biological engineering, agri-food and the environment.

During the first year of the PeiP program, students complete a series of nine practical assignments illustrating applications or techniques related to the engineering specialties of POLYTECH
Montpellier.

In the second year of the PeiP, students carry out a research and development project. This is a study and research project carried out in pairs, in connection with an industrial problem in one of the school's engineering specialties.

In the second year of the PeiP, students also do an internship to discover the professional environment, lasting at least four weeks. The students themselves look for their internship location, if necessary with the help of the school's Industrial Relations or International Relations departments.
