Overview
The PeiP (POLYTECH Engineering School Pathway) is designed for high school graduates with a science-focused diploma who wish to enroll in an engineering program immediately after graduation. It is a two-year preparatory program during which students receive a broad-based education that enables them to subsequently enroll in an “engineering program” at any of the 15 schools in the POLYTECH network. The 15 schools in the POLYTECH network are all public institutions under the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and award engineering degrees recognized by the Commission des titres d’ingénieur (CTI), the only body in France authorized to evaluate engineering programs. In Montpellier, the PEIP A, B, and C programs are offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Montpellier.
The Benefits of the Training Program
A SAFE PATH AND A WIDE SELECTION
Provided they have successfully completed their PeiP A (STI) or B (BIO), students are guaranteed a spot in the engineering program within the POLYTECH network. They will have direct access to and eligibility for more than 100 engineering specializations at the 15 schools in the POLYTECH network. The final placement will be based on the student’s preferences and their national ranking. Students may apply to other engineering schools. They may use the academic credits earned in the PeiP to continue their studies in another L3-level program.

A TRAINING PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FACULTY OF SCIENCES IN MONTPELLIER
A multidisciplinary scientific and technical foundation is taught in collaboration with the Montpellier Faculty of Sciences through a program tailored for PeiP students. Courses specific to engineering education and modern language courses are taught by POLYTECH Montpellier. TRACK A (STI) Track A (Engineering Sciences and Technologies) provides access to all engineering specializations within the POLYTECH network, except for “Biological Engineering – Biotechnology” in Marseille and “Biological Engineering” in Nice. TRACK B (BIO) Track B (Biology) provides access to 14 engineering specializations within the network, focused on biological engineering, agri-food, and the environment.
During the first year of the PeiP program, students complete a series of nine practical assignments that demonstrate applications or techniques related to the engineering specializations offered at POLYTECH
Montpellier.
In the second year of the PeiP program, students conduct a research and development project. This involves a study and research project carried out in pairs, addressing an industrial challenge related to one of the school’s engineering specializations.
In the second year of the PeiP program, students also complete a work experience internship lasting at least four weeks. Students find their own internship placements, drawing on the support of the school’s Industrial Relations Office or International Relations Office as needed.

Admissions Through the Geipi Polytech Competitive Exam in 2021/22
- Concours Général: approximately 3,600 spots in 2022, including 180 in STI and 25 in BIO at Polytech Montpellier
(in 2021, 21,750 applications for 3,756 spots) - STI2D-STL Entrance Exam: 163 spots in 2022 (Polytech Montpellier does not admit students through this exam)

At the end of the two years, provided you have successfully completed your PeiP program:
- You will have direct and automatic access to one of the 100 specializations offered by the network of 15 engineering schools in the POLYTECH network; your final placement will be based on your preferences and will take into account the specializations offered and the available spots;
- You will be able to use the credits you have earned to continue your studies in another higher education program (bachelor's degree, teacher training, etc.);
- You can apply to other engineering schools.
