Presentation
The PeiP (Parcours des écoles d'ingénieurs POLYTECH) is aimed at students with a scientific baccalaureate who wish to enter an engineering training course immediately after the baccalaureate. It is a two-year preparatory cycle, during which students receive a generalist training that enables them to enter an "engineering cycle" at any of the 15 schools in the POLYTECH network.. The 15 schools in the POLYTECH network are all public schools under the authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and award engineering diplomas recognized by the Commission des titres d'ingénieur (CTI), the only body in France authorized to evaluate engineering courses. In Montpellier, the PEIP A, B and C programs are run in collaboration with the Faculty of Science at the University of Montpellier.
Training benefits
A SAFE ROUTE AND A VARIED CHOICE
Once they have passed their PeiP A (STI) or B (BIO), students are guaranteed to go on to the engineering cycle within the POLYTECH network. They will have direct access by right to over 100 engineering specializations in the 15 schools of the POLYTECH network. The final assignment will be based on the student's wishes and his or her national ranking, and he or she will be able to apply to other engineering schools. Students can use the teaching credits obtained in the PeiP to continue their studies in another course at L3 level.
Objectives
- National recruitment for a national network.
- Generalist teaching in a bachelor's degree course or IUT.
- Special courses and individual or group support (tutoring, coaching) provided by engineering students and the teaching team.
- Openness to the industrial world: knowledge of the business world, presentations by professionals, internships in France and abroad...
TRAINING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MONTPELLIER FACULTY OF SCIENCE
A multi-disciplinary scientific and technical foundation is taught in conjunction with the Montpellier Faculty of Science, via a special course for PeiP students. The POLYTECH Montpellier school provides specific engineering training and modern language courses. COURSE A (STI) Course A (engineering sciences and techniques) gives access to all engineering specialties in the POLYTECH network, except "Biological engineering - biotechnologies" in Marseille and "Biological engineering" in Nice. Pathway B (Biology) Pathway B (Biology) gives access to 14 engineering specialties in the POLYTECH network, focusing on biological engineering, agrifood and the environment.
During the 1st year of PeiP, students carry out a series of nine practical assignments illustrating applications or techniques related to POLYTECH
Montpellier's engineering specialties.
In the 2nd year of PeiP, students carry out a research and development project. This is a study and research project carried out in pairs, in connection with an industrial issue in one of the school's engineering specialties.
In the 2 nd year of the PeiP, students also take part in an internship to discover the professional world, lasting a minimum of four weeks. Students are responsible for finding their own work placements, if necessary with the help of the school's Industrial Relations or International Relations departments.
