Presentation
Please note: The content of this course is given as an indication (2020-2021 basis); courses will be subject to change for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The Materials (MAT) specialization trains general engineers (bac+5) capable of developing, elaborating, characterizing, transforming and using materials. It also raises awareness of eco-design and sustainable development.
Training benefits
ALL THE SCHOOL'S COURSES ARE SUPPORTED BY A NETWORK OF SOLID PARTNERSHIPS WITH :
- the industrial world (800 internships, 200 industrial projects and 50 apprenticeship contracts per year),
- academic research (14 associated research laboratories),
- International (over 100 partner universities worldwide).
Know-how and skills
On graduating, the MAT :
- Has acquired a solid scientific foundation in chemistry, physics and mechanics;
- Good knowledge of technologies specific to different classes of materials (polymers, glass, ceramics, metals, etc.);
- Is capable of managing the technical, human and economic aspects of a project or activity in the field of high-volume or high-value-added materials;
- Is attentive to issues of sustainability, recycling and eco-design.
He is qualified to perform the following functions:
- Research & Development
- Design
- Tests and studies
- Quality and standardization
- Production
- Technical expertise and advice
- Maintenance
