Presentation
The department Computer Science and Management department trains engineers with dual skills, enabling them to take up positions of responsibility in information systems design, the management of major IT projects or the development of innovative technologies. The courses cover the fundamental aspects of computer science, mathematics and management, and emphasize initiative and autonomy.
Objectives
Acquire and consolidate the theoretical foundations essential to engineering and fundamental in the fields of IT and management.
Fundamental courses in computer science, applied mathematics and management, linked to the discovery of the professional world.
Know-how and skills
On graduating, the GI student-engineer :
- has acquired a solid scientific foundation in computer science, decision mathematics, statistics and project management methodology;
- has a good knowledge of the company's businesses and management issues;
- is capable of managing an IT project from conception to production;
- is familiar with team management, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility issues, as well as business start-ups.
He is qualified to perform the following functions:

Internships punctuate the three years spent at the school:
- Discovery internship in a company at the end of3rd year during the summer (minimum 1 month) to discover the professional world.
- Internships
- The4th year concludes with a summer internship (minimum 2 months) with a company.
- In5th year, after completing their industrial project, students take part in an engineering internship (minimum 5 months) with a company in France or abroad.

In Grade5, students with a suitable profile can :
- complete a 12-month professionalization contract with a company. The professional contract includes an industrial project and a work placement.
- take a professional or research Master's degree in parallel with their Polytech course, in one of our partner university departments (AES at the University of Montpellier).
In years4 and5, they carry out an industrial project (300 hours) that places them in a professional situation and enables them to develop their autonomy.

- For students of classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles (CPGE): recruitment via the POLYTECH competitive entrance examination.
- For holders of an L2, L3, DUT, BTS or equivalent foreign diploma: competitive entrance exam based on application and interview.

For holders of an M1 or equivalent foreign diploma: competitive examination based on application and interview.
Professionalization contract
Students admitted for initial training can complete their5th year under a professionalization contract.
Continuing education
Under certain conditions, the Computer Science and Management course is also open to employees with at least three years' professional experience in the field.
