In a context of climate change, access to sufficient quantities of quality water has become a global issue for all mankind. The internationally recognized Water Sciences and Technologies program aims to train expert engineers in the field of water in three years and currently has more than 1,400 graduates. The water sector is a major sector for eco-companies, and can enable France to position itself as one of the pioneering countries in the field of green growth.

Know-how and skills

Upon graduation, the STE :

- Possesses strong scientific and technical knowledge in all water-related disciplines;

- Is able to work as a manager in the operation and production of drinking water, the design of distribution systems, the sizing of treatment plants, stormwater treatment, environmental impact studies and diagnosis of the state of health of natural environments;

- Is able to design, conduct and manage all types of projects in the water sector, in compliance with the economic and legal frameworks of public services.

He is qualified to perform the following functions:

- Design or consulting engineer

- Project Manager

- In charge of the water mission

- Design

- Production, exploitation

- Research and development

Mandatory

The student-engineers carry out several compulsory internships in companies or research laboratories:

- 1 to 3 month internship at the end of the3rd year;

- 1 to 3 month internship at the end of the4th year;

- 5 to 6 month internship at the end of the5th year.

 

In thefifth year, they carry out an industrial end-of-studies project (300 hours) that places them in a professional situation and allows them to develop their autonomy.

Conditions of access

In3rd year

- For students of the classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles (CPGE): recruitment by POLYTECH competitive examination.

- For holders of a L2, L3, DUT, BTS or equivalent foreign diploma: competitive examination based on application and interview.

- For PeiP2 students: after validation of the course and national interclassification.

In4th year

For holders of an M1 or equivalent foreign diploma: competitive examination based on application and interview.

Continuing Education

The Microelectronics and Automation program is also available in continuing education, under certain conditions, to employees with at least three years of professional experience in the specialty.
