The Water and Civil Engineering specialization (EGC) trains, through apprenticeship, engineers (bac+5), experts in the supervision of hydraulic works projects, at the heart of cities and regional development.

Know-how and skills
Upon graduation, the EGC student-engineer :
- Acquired a solid scientific foundation (mathematics, computer science) and a language certification in English;
- Master the technical knowledge of the water and civil engineering fields, essential to design, dimension, build, operate and maintain large hydraulic works, in the service of urban and regional development;
- Is able to manage the human and economic aspects of a hydraulic engineering project, from its conception to its delivery.
He is qualified to perform the following functions:
- Works engineer / studies and design / operation
- Project manager
- Assistant to the project owner
- Project manager / agency / company.
Organization
Special arrangements
CALENDAR
- Start of the training: beginning of October.
- Duration of the training: 3 years.
- 71 weeks at school + 85 weeks in the company including paid vacations).
- Alternating school / company :
10 weeks / 4 weeks in the1st year (3 periods at school)
8 weeks / 9 weeks in the2nd year (3 periods at school)
8 weeks / 20 weeks in the3rd year (2 periods at school)

ORIGINALITIES
- Alternating school / company.
- A double technical competence in water (hydraulics, processes) and civil engineering (dimensioning, construction).
- A four-week international experience.
- Some courses take place at the IUT of Nîmes.

PROFESSIONAL UNITS
The in-company training is placed under the responsibility of an industrial tutor, the apprenticeship master, and monitored by an educational tutor, the teacher. It is organized around five professional units:
- knowledge of the company (UP1) -1st year
- technical environment (UP2) -1st year
- scientific and/or technological application (UP3) -2nd year
- business management (UP4) -2nd year
- Industrial project for the end of studies (UP5) -3rd year

Admission
Conditions of access
- Be of age at the time of signing an apprenticeship contract (according to the regulations in force)
- Hold a Bac+2 (L2, DUT, BTS, CPGE, PeiP...) in the field of science and technology.
- To be eligible for the competition on the basis of a file and an interview.
- After signing an apprenticeship contract.
The apprentice receives a minimum remuneration of between 41% and 78% of the SMIC.
