Overview
This state-issued diploma confers the same rights as those associated with passing the baccalaureate. It is legally recognized as Level IV in the interministerial classification of educational levels. See the Ministerial Order of August 3, 1994, regarding the diploma granting access to university studies.
The DAEU-B is part of the Occitanie Region’s FORPROSUP Continuing Education Program in Higher Education *.
It allows job seekers registered with France Travail to:
- To have the cost of the training covered (excluding registration fees) after the project has been approved and the DAEUB has been recommended by one of the organizations authorized by the Region: France Travail, Mission Locale, Cap Emploi, the Departmental Council, or CIDFF.
- To receive regional compensation under certain conditions or to have their benefits maintained by France Travail.
* Subject to approval by the elected officials of the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region.

Objectives
- Obtain a state-recognized diploma equivalent to the baccalaureate
- Go on to pursue higher education
- Take entrance exams that require a high school diploma (civil service exams, entrance exams for nursing, social work, medical-social work, and education programs, etc.)
Program
Part-time program from September through June.
Classes are held during the day at the Béziers, Montpellier, Nîmes, Ganges, and Lodève campuses, and in the evening at the Montpellier campus.
Continuous assessment and final exam.
A total of 400 hours of coursework:
Required subjects

Admission
Admission Requirements
Have been out of school for at least 2 years, provided that:
- or, be at least 24 years old as of October 1 of the year in which the degree is awarded.
- or, be at least 20 years old as of October 1 of the year in which the degree is awarded. Applicants must also provide proof, as of that date, of 2 years of full-time or part-time professional (or equivalent*) work that resulted in social security contributions.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS: Review of applications based on submitted materials and individual interviews
Job seekers may be eligible for a position funded by the Occitanie Region as part of the FORPROSUP program (subject to official notification from the Region).
Access to a training program funded by the Region is limited to job seekers who have been referred by one of the following advisors: Mission Locale, Pôle Emploi, the General Councils’ Employment Services, or CIDFF.
Target Audience
Target audience: individuals who do not hold a high school diploma or equivalent
Candidates who have interrupted their initial studies for at least two years and who meet one of the following requirements are eligible to enroll at the University to pursue a degree:
- or be at least 24 years old as of October 1 of the year in which the degree is awarded.
- or be at least 20 years old as of October 1 of the year in which the degree is awarded.
And , as of that date, provide proof of 2 years of full-time or part-time professional (or equivalent) activity that resulted in social security contributions.
The following are considered equivalent to professional activity:
Time spent raising a child; registration with France Travail; participation in a training program; participation in high-level sports.
