Objectives

  • At the end of this course, students should have acquired in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of fixed prostheses.
  • This knowledge concerns the basic principles of prosthesis fabrication (biomechanical criteria), their application in the design and fabrication of prosthetic restorations, prosthetic follow-up, and the medico-legal aspects related to this technique (traceability; material vigilance; obligation of means and expected results; attitude towards failure).

Program

Acquire 16 ECTS credits, including clinical specialization course units and a course unit in fundamental sciences.

The courses are organized into the following specific teaching units:

  • UE 1: Prosthetic Occlusion (4 ECTS)
  • UE 2: Clinical and physiological aspects of fixed prostheses (4 ECTS)
  • UE 3: Technology and laboratory work in fixed prosthetics (4 ECTS)
  • UE4 in fundamental sciences , to be chosen from the following topics : (4 ECTS)

EU2 in ORAL BIOLOGY
EU3 in BIOMATERIALS

  • Hold a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree that entitles the holder to practice the profession in the country where it was obtained or in the candidate's country of origin.
  • Candidates who have successfully completed some of these course units are requested to provide proof of completion when registering.
