CERTIFICAT D'ETUDES SUPERIEURES DE BIOMATERIAUX EN ODONTOLOGIE MENTION CARACTERISATION ET ÉVALUATION.
Objectives
In this specialization, students will acquire the following skills:
- in-depth methodological knowledge of the behavior, characterization and evaluation of biomaterials used in dentistry;
- the concepts they need to enter a doctoral training program in the field of dental biomaterials.

Knowledge control
The student must validate the following UE (16 ECTS):
UE1 : General notions on biomaterials: generalities, requirements, structure, degradation, notions on implantable biomaterials. (4 ECTS)
UE2 : Behavior and characterization of biomaterials. (basic elements) (4 ECTS)
UE3 : Odontological biomaterials. (4 ECTS)
UE4 in basic science corresponding to the field of clinical use of Biomaterials chosen from another clinical CES (4 ECTS)
1st Session: 1 written test of 1 hour per EU
Validation of each UE: obtaining a mark higher than 12/20
2nd make-up session for each UE not validated
Validation: average of the written test and the oral test of the UE and a mark of 10/20 or higher.
Program
The course earns 16 ECTS credits and comprises 3 specific units (12 ECTS) and 1 core unit (4 ECTS).
Admission
Access conditions
- Hold a diploma of Doctor of Dental Surgery entitling them to practice in the country where they obtained their diploma or in their country of origin.
- Students who have passed some of these UEs are asked to provide a certificate of achievement when registering.
