HIGHER EDUCATION CERTIFICATE IN BIOMATERIALS IN DENTISTRY, SPECIALIZING IN CHARACTERIZATION AND EVALUATION.
Objectives
Students must acquire the following points in this major:
- in-depth methodological knowledge in the fields of behavior, characterization, and evaluation of biomaterials used in dentistry;
- the essential concepts for their integration into a doctoral training program in the field of dental biomaterials.
Organization
Knowledge assessment
Students must complete the following course units (16 ECTS):
UE1: General concepts of biomaterials: overview, requirements, structure, degradation, concepts of implantable biomaterials. (4 ECTS)
UE2: Behavior and characterization of biomaterials. (basic elements) (4 ECTS)
UE3: Dental Biomaterials. (4 ECTS)
UE4 in fundamental science corresponding to the field of clinical use of biomaterials chosen in another clinical CES. (4 ECTS)
1st Session: 1-hour written exam per course unit
Validation of each teaching unit: obtain a grade higher than 12/20
2nd Make-up session for unvalidated EU
Validation: average of the written and oral EU exams and a grade of 10/20 or higher
Program
The program allows students to earn 16 ECTS credits and includes three specific course units (12 ECTS) and one fundamental course unit (4 ECTS).
Admission
Admission requirements
- Hold a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree entitling the holder to practice the profession in the country where it was obtained or in the candidate's country of origin.
- Students who have successfully completed some of these course units are requested to provide proof of completion when registering.
