BUT Networks and Telecommunications

The degree is awarded based on continuous assessment. An assessment of student knowledge is conducted at the end of each semester (30 credits per semester).

The BUT program is equivalent to 180 European credits, corresponding to a bachelor’s degree (bac + 3). Students who have earned 120 credits receive the DUT (University Diploma in Technology, bac + 2) at the end of their first two years.

Work-study program available starting in the second year, with a schedule of 3 weeks at the IUT and 3 weeks at a company

Students have the option of enrolling in the apprenticeship program starting in their second or third year. The work-study program is structured as follows: three weeks at the IUT, followed by three weeks at a company.

Project-based learning is a key pillar of education

Applicants who hold or are preparing for a French baccalaureate or an equivalent qualification are eligible to apply, except as noted in the additional procedures below:

- Applicants who are enrolled in school and/or reside in a country with a Campus France office must follow the "Études en France" process rather than the Parcoursup platform.

- Students who are not enrolled in a regular program or who are not preparing for a French baccalaureate, a DAEU, or a Level IV diploma must follow a specific procedure to enroll in college (preliminary application or “white/green” application) and therefore do not use the Parcoursup platform, unless they are already enrolled in school in France.

For initial training:

Applications are submitted via the PARCOURSUP process.

The deadline for submitting applications is set by the PARCOURSUP process.

 Continuing education:

Continuing education at institutions of higher education is intended for:

- individuals (employees, job seekers, self-employed professionals, etc.) who have interrupted their studies and wish to acquire or develop a qualification, or to build on their professional experience
- employers (in the private or public sector) who wish to develop their employees’ skills

Provided they meet the prerequisites, applicants may register through the University of Montpellier’s Continuing Education Department to earn:

- Diplomas equivalent to the Baccalaureate (DAEU B, Capacité en droit)
- National and state diplomas (DUT, Licence pro, engineering degrees, Master’s degrees, etc.)
- Institutional diplomas (university diplomas, certificates)

Admission to the program is also possible through the Recognition of Professional Qualifications or the Recognition of Prior Learning (VAP/VAE). For more information, please visit the Continuing Education Department’s website.

Student and Campus Life Fee (CVEC):

A Student and Campus Contribution (CVEC) must be paid by each student before administrative registration for most programs listed on Parcoursup. (100 euros)
