Presentation
The B.U.T R&T trains senior technicians and managers capable of installing, maintaining, managing and securing telecommunications systems and communications networks of all types (Internet, local networks, mobile networks, operator networks, fiber optics).
The training is open to holders of the general and technological baccalaureate.
Two specialization courses are offered from the second year onwards:
- Cybersecurity: this course covers all the professions related to the security of information systems, from the installation of security equipment (firewalls, probes) to their monitoring. The R&T graduate of the Cybersecurity course will be able to administer a secure information system, supervise it, and detect and counter computer attacks.
- System and cloud development: the Internet and the cloud require a permanent adaptation of software and infrastructures that support them to improve intra and inter-company services. Companies must adapt to changing workloads and respond quickly to crises caused by security or production incidents. The R&T professional is no longer just in charge of the infrastructure and must collaborate with programmers to maintain a cloud environment adapted to business needs and automate production.

Knowledge control
The diploma is awarded on the basis of continuous assessment. A validation of knowledge is organized at the end of each semester (30 credits per semester).
The BUT corresponds to 180 European credits, i.e. a bac + 3 level. Those who have validated 120 credits obtain the intermediate diploma of DUT (university diploma of technology, at bac + 2) at the end of their first two years.

Alternation methods
Students have the option of following an apprenticeship program from the second or third year onwards. In this case, three weeks are spent at the IUT and three weeks at the company.

A skills-based approach:
● 4 to 6 (blocks of) business skills
● 3 possible levels of skills development (one per year): novice, intermediate, proficient
● 2600 hours of instruction for secondary school training and 1800 for tertiary education
● 600h of formalized project work on the schedules
● training spread over 3 years: maximum 33h per week

Conditions of access
Candidates who hold or are preparing for a French baccalaureate or a qualification accepted as equivalent are authorized to apply, except for the procedures listed below:
- Applicants attending school and/or residing in a country with a Campus France area go through the "Études en France" procedure and not the Parcoursup platform.
- Students who do not have or are not preparing a French baccalaureate, a DAEU or a level IV diploma must go through a specific procedure to apply to university (pre-registration file or white/green file) and therefore do not go through the Parcoursup platform, unless they are already enrolled in school in France

Initial training:
On application, following the PARCOURSUP procedure.

In continuing education:
Continuing education in higher education institutions is for :
- people (employees, job seekers, professionals, etc.) who have interrupted their studies and wish to acquire or develop a qualification, to enhance their professional experience
- employers (private or public) wishing to develop the skills of their employees
Subject to fulfilling the prerequisites, candidates can register via the Continuing Education Service of the University of Montpellier, for :
- Diplomas equivalent to the Bac (DAEU B, Capacity in law)
- National and State diplomas (DUT, Licence pro, Engineering, Master,...)
- Institutional diplomas (University Diploma, Certificate)

Student and Campus Life Contribution (CVEC):
A Contribution Vie Étudiante et de Campus (CVEC) (Student and Campus Life Contribution) must be paid by each student, prior to administrative registration, for most of the courses listed on Parcoursup (100euros).
