Overview
This program offers courses to all students at UM, ENSCM, Institut Agro Montpellier, ENSAM, and IMT Mines Alès designed to raise their awareness of the challenges of ecological transition, sustainable development, and social responsibility. These courses are introductory in nature and are general and interdisciplinary in scope. The program consists of approximately 40 hours of coursework and a case study covering various topics: - Climate, Energy, Resources, Biodiversity, Just and Equitable Transition - Economics, Law, Politics, Environmental Governance and Management - Transportation, Waste, Digital Technology, Analytical Tools (carbon footprint, greenhouse gases, life cycle assessment), and - Communication, Environmental Responsibility, Engagement, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The Benefits of the Training Program
This initiative to raise student awareness is part of a broader civic education program led by UM, aimed at helping future graduates become more aware of major environmental and societal issues.
Objectives
The primary goal of this degree program is to strengthen students’ ability to analyze and understand their environment, regardless of their field of study. This awareness can also help build bridges to companies and careers in the fields of ecological transition and sustainable development.
Expertise and Skills
By the end of this course, students will have a better understanding of—and therefore a better grasp of—the key issues related to SD&RS. The course modules are therefore designed to:
- Raise awareness, provide information, and foster an understanding of the ecological transition and the diverse challenges of sustainable development and risk management
- develop critical thinking skills and the ability to synthesize information regarding these aspects and their interactions
- gain a basic understanding of the analytical methods used in diagnostics and decision-making processes
- be able to promote and share a range of “best practices”

Admission Requirements
This program is open only to students enrolled in undergraduate or apprenticeship programs for the current academic year at one of the following institutions: University of Montpellier, ENSCM, Institut Agro Montpellier, ENSAM, IMT Mines Alès
A certificate of enrollment for the relevant academic year, or, failing that, proof of acceptance at one of these institutions, is required to support the application.

Maximum enrollment: 80
Registration Procedures
Registration fee: €50 (€25 for scholarship recipients)
Registration fees do not include the CVEC and SCD amounts. These amounts are due:
- depending on the student’s situation for the CVEC
- automatically for the SCD
